Stuttgart. In November 2003, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, and Porsche Design Management GmbH, Salzburg, merged their activities relating to the sale of accessories, clothing and sports equipment in the design and licensing business as well as the retail sector in the new company, Porsche Lizenz- und Handelsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG (Porsche Design Group). The company’s activities are focused on the business areas Porsche Design, Porsche Design Driver’s Selection and the Porsche Design Studio in Zell am See, Austria.
Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, designer of the Porsche 911 and
grandson of the Porsche founder, established the Porsche Design brand in 1972. It is a luxury brand with particular focus on technically inspired products. It offers classic men’s accessories that stand for functional, timeless and purist design. The product portfolio includes watches, sunglasses, luggage, a sport and fashion collection as well as electronic products and a men’s fragrance line. All the brand’s products are designed in the Porsche Design-Studio in Zell am See, Austria. Porsche Design products are sold worldwide in own retail and franchise stores, shop-in-shops, up-market department stores and exclusive specialist stores.
The brand Porsche Design Driver's Selection covers the vehicle-related product range for Porsche drivers and fans. The collection includes among other things model cars, distinctive fashion and lifestyle accessories, flexible luggage combinations for the cars and is distinguished by quality, functionality and sportive design. Porsche Design Driver’s Selection products are available in Porsche centers and the Porsche AG online shops.
Porsche Design Studio in Zell am See, Austria, stands for the distinctive, timeless and unmistakable design signature that characterizes all of the Porsche Design Group’s products. The studio also does work for other companies in the areas of industrial and product design. Today, Porsche Design Studio is among Europe’s most recognized design companies.
