Mobile phone named “Product of the Year” for second time in a row

Readers of "connect" magazine award prize to Porsche Design

Stuttgart. In this year’s reader’s poll, readers of the German telecommunications magazine “connect” revealed for the second time in succession just how impressed they were with Porsche Design’s P´9521 mobile phone which they voted “2008 Product of the Year” in the luxury mobile phone category. According to connect, their reader’s poll is the biggest readership survey on telecommunications products in Europe. The awards ceremony took place on April 10, 2008 in Stuttgart’s Kunstmuseum.

Porsche Design’s first mobile phone had previously received an award in March 2008 at the “iF Design Awards”, one of the most prestigious awards competitions in the world. It stands out because of its puristic design and its use of high quality natural materials such as aluminum and mineral glass. The device is milled from a solid aluminum block – an exceptional production method for mobile phones. The user is identified by a highly sensitive sensor which recognizes his/her fingerprint. The display unit can be rotated about 180 degrees, allowing the device to be used as a camera.

From May 2008, the cell phone will also be available in aluminum and white from Porsche Design Stores.
