Le Mans victory: the source of sporting fashion

The new Martini Racing Collection

Stuttgart. The more discreet the logo, the more striking it is. With this precept in mind, at the beginning of the 1970s the Martini Racing Team combined four light blue and one red stripe on a dark background. On Porsche’s racing cars these stripes gained worldwide recognition and became synonymous with motorsport success. For instance at the 1971 Le Mans, where Helmut Marko and Gijs van Lennep drove to victory in the Porsche 917.

In the meantime, the stripe logo has also gained widespread recognition as the Martini Racing Fashion Collection, offered by Porsche Design Driver’s Selection for the last four years. The exclusive collection with the five stripes ranges from sweat jackets, polo shirts and t-shirts to stylish accessories. In the coming season, too, the Martini Racing Collection will be creating new and exciting sporting products, in which lifestyle and motorsport legend interweave.

A highlight of the brand new collection is the beach chair. The foldable easy chair with painted steel frame and padded armrests is a great attraction and the perfect companion for the seaside. The ideal completion is the beach ball as well as the extra large beach towel in Martini Racing design.

One popular model, the pure cotton Martini Racing sweat jacket, has been completely restyled for the coming season. The dark blue jacket with side pockets has been given a contrasting inner collar in yellow and the script “Martini Racing” on the chest. Blue and red striped ribbed bands decorate sleeves and hem. The white women’s sweat jacket, without ribbed bands, displays the Martini stripes on the pocket openings. One eye-catching detail is the big Porsche lettering in contrasting grey on the right sleeve.

Another innovation is the flame red women’s t-shirt featuring various racing labels. At chest height is a discreetly embroidered Porsche logo, but on the back Martini Racing appears in large letters – emphasized by the blue and red stripe logo. The Martini Racing key strap is an attractive accessory for the t-shirt, its dark band with the Martini stripes forming a stylish contrast.

The new collection also includes the dark blue rugby shirt with long sleeves and contrasting white collar. The pure cotton shirt bears the Porsche logo on the chest and the Martini stripes across the whole width of the front, below the neckline. A long-sleeved shirt in dark blue and a white t-shirt also feature the famous stripes on the front and above them the Martini Racing lettering together with the starting number 1.

Also brand new in the collection are various men’s and women’s polo shirts in grey and dark blue. Diverse racing labels, and contrasting cuffs and collars, impart modish accents to these sporting models.
