Porsche unveils the new 911 GT3 RS and GT3 RS with the Weissach Package. Both vehicles are hallmarks of ultimate perfection, inspired by the mindset of racecar drivers. Porsche Design has launched the new 911 GT3 RS chronographs exclusively for buyers of this high-performance sports car. The master craftspeople at the Porsche Design watchmaking facility in the Swiss town of Solothurn handcraft each timepiece with incredible precision, demonstrating that speed is not the only criterion for high performance.

Ready for a Quick Lap?

The chronograph, which boasts a variety of striking design features and technical details, is the perfect complement to the motorized versions on which it is modeled. Chronograph pushers with laser engravings of ‘Start/Stop’ and ‘Next Lap’ emphasize the racing origins of these timepieces. The watchcase, made of lightweight, durable titanium, comes in black or a natural finish. It is glass-bead blasted, dynamically water-resistant up to 5 bar, and equally well suited for racing in the rain as well as diving. The scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, with seven-fold antireflective coating on both sides, guarantees optimum readability, which is indispensable to racing, as well as the instantaneous observation of crucial information. The carbon-fiber dial offers an eye-catching contrast to the white hour and minute indexes made of ceramic Super-LumiNova® luminous material. The hands in PERFORMANCE (white), ESSENCE (black), or GT (yellow) hint at the timepieces motorsport DNA with each passing second. The matte black seconds disc at 9 o’clock is embossed with white ‘911 GT3 RS’ lettering, while the red and white curbs design makes an impression in a few hundredths. The high-performance nature of this one-of-a-kind timepiece is accentuated with a ‘BORN IN FLACHT’ imprint in the center of the seconds disc. Ultimately, this chronograph epitomizes the hunt for new lap records. The chronograph second and 30-minute counter display precise proof as to whether the best time has been beaten upon crossing the finish line. The Porsche Design watch configurator offers a selection of nine colors for the customized ring around the dial. Unlike the rear of the GT3 RS, only a handful of people get a glimpse of the back of this timepiece. Made of titanium and in the selected case color, it can be customized with text up to 12 characters long, such as the vehicle identification number (VIN), for example. The sapphire-crystal case back provides a clear view of the rotor and intricate clockwork mechanism within.

Gets Pulses Racing – and Displays Them.

The new pulsometer scale on the bezel, made of titanium or titanium with black titanium carbide coating, shows how fast the wearer’s heart beats for motorsport during a pit stop. All it requires is the wearer to feel their pulse and start the measurement on the chronograph. After 30 pulsations, the stopped second hand indicates the number of heart beats per minute on the pulsometer scale. The bezel is also available with a tachymeter or minute display.

Anything but a Fifth Wheel on a Sports Car.

The COSC-certified Porsche Design WERK 01.200 features a flyback function that combines starting, stopping, and resetting in a single operation, making the 911 GT3 RS chronograph the perfect companion for the racetrack. In addition, the winding rotor has been completely redesigned to reflect the wheel rim design of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. The Weissach RS Rotor features the same rim design as the lightweight magnesium forged wheel that is an exclusive component of the 911 GT3 RS with the Weissach Package. The colors available are Brilliant Silver, Neodyme, Black Satin, Dark Silver, Indigo Blue, and Pyro Red. The stylish finishing touch is the new black rotor cap, which echoes the wheel’s center lock with the RS logo emblazoned in Brilliant Silver. The leather strap included with the timepiece is made of genuine Porsche vehicle leather and is an extension of selected interior elements. Elaborate perforation and backing made of Race-Tex in the selected accent color – GT Silver or Guards Red – as well as decorative stitching made of vehicle yarn in the accent color, bring the unique Porsche feeling to the wrist. The chronograph can also be equipped with high-quality metal straps, which – just like the clasp – are made of titanium. In addition, carefully crafted leather straps are available in the original Porsche colors of the 911 (992) configurator. All straps[1] come with a quick-change mechanism and a folding clasp with pushers that match the case color.
